THE I IN ME

When I’m happy and I need to share,
She’s with me as my pair.
When I’m sad & need a shoulder to cry,
She’ll be there by my side to wipe my tears dry.

When I’m confused & need to choose,
She helps me decide and also woos.
When I fail & get put off,
She’ll pat my back and say “pull off”.

When I’m red & fuming with rage,
She’ll sooth me by draining my page.
When I feel lonely and in need of a friend,
To my loneliness she’ll put an end.

When I have a secret in me to share,
She’ll lend her ear & always does care.
When I feel ditched and ignored by all,
She’ll hold me & always be my wall.

She is my best buddy for all season,
Who’ll never leave me for any reason.
A true well-wisher and guide that she is,
She is almost like my twin sis.

Such a person is none other than I.
Coz only I can judge me better,
Only I can care for me better,
Only I can understand me better,
Only I can teach me better.

If each one of us value the I inside you,
I’m sure you’ll see yourself in a different hue.
So value the I in you,
You will find the world around you all new.
