The 26/11 incident inspired me to write this poem.
Everyday isn’t exiting & so wasn’t that day,
But neither did I have any idea of what I was going to pay.
After having dinner we were getting ready to sleep,
Just at that time we heard a noise that was deep.
My dad answered a call & his face went pale,
He said something to my mom & she said, “believe in God, he’ll never fail.
All the three of us were cuddled in a corner making no noise,
We kept hearing gunshots & some horrific voice.
My dad messaged his friend for help, desperate to save us,
He said it would take time as there’s lot of fuss.
When the police called us through window it was past 4 hours,
My dad opened the window & could see them removing the bars.
The rescue operation was being done noiselessly,
& the police were working cautiously.
When we were asked to come out my parents sent me out first,
But what preceded next was extremely worst.
Just when I reached safe hands door of our room was unfastened,
Two guns pointed to my parents & just fired.
It was the TERRORISTS who shot down my mom & dad,
They are devil in disguise who have gone mad.
My parents died & I was orphaned,
Peace & happiness that I had was forever darkened.
I am just a school going kid with lots of aspirations in my mind,
But neither God nor the world to me has been kind.
My life is never again going to be the same,
Without anybody to care or share I am a lame.
The world speaks of terrorism today & forgets tomorrow,
Only when it strikes at them they realize its sorrow.
There are so many victims like me, who have lost their dear ones,
Whose life has changed drastically for a long run.
I request the world to stand united,
By cast, creed & religion lets not be divided.
Only then can we fight against these disguised devils,
& terminate these people from causing evils.
Don’t let another child weep for his future like me,
all that we want is peace & help it let be.
